    Itchy Feet

I have decided to go to Europe!!!

Not today, of course. But next year. If I had the money, I'd definitely go this summer. However, since I don't, I'm going to give myself a year to come up with the funds to be able to take my trip. I figure four weeks abroad will be long enough to slate my thirst for new horizons: I can see the main sights without missing anything good, but I still have the freedom of time to go and explore without feeling restricted to just big things like the Louvre or the Colosseum.

Last week Daddy sent me this huge map of Europe that has a ton of cities on it, and I've already started pinning the cities that I want to go to. I figure I can pin them all now, and then look at what I've got and plan a route from there. I'll take off pins as I plan, perhaps making room for shorter day trips to outlying attractions from a main city, such as Versailles from Paris.

Now the only thing that can make this trip a pleasant reality is a good travel buddy. Since it was actually Priscilla's idea to go, I would think she would be the one to be all gung-ho about planning and what not, but she missed our initial planning meeting last week, and I haven't heard from her since, so I'm beginning to think that maybe she isn't on board like I thought she was. I can't stand it when people flake out on me like that. So I'm giving myself 6 months to find a reliable travel buddy, and if I can't find one in that time I'm going to have to cancel the trip.

Let the travel buddy search of the year begin!!!! haha ;o)

    Huzzah!!!

Excellent, excellent news!!!  Last Wednesday was my last day at the department store! :D  I no longer have to cater to the needs of pesky customers with no respect for public property.  As of next Monday I work full time at the dealership in the accounting office, and I'm very excited to start my new schedule.  With 50 hours every week on the clock, I'll be making some serious OT (at least by my standards).  I'll be able to save up a ton for my trip to Europe next year! :o)  huzzah!

The only downside is that my Saturdays are pretty much taken up completely by work, and Mondays and Wednesdays I won't be getting home until about 9-10pm because I go straight from work to FHE/Institute.  And if I decide to start up KSW again, the same goes for Tuesdays and Thursdays.  I guess I'll just have to learn to manage my time wisely.  Not to mention my funds.  The trip to Europe isn't gonna pay for itself, ya know? haha

Anywho, so I'm really excited for my new full time position.  Better pay, regular hours, and I don't have to pick up after rude people!!!  That's the pest perk, I think ;o) lol

    Department Store Madness

Today I was in the "black hole" of the department store.  Or, what I call the black hole, anyway.  It's the Men's department.

Since most of the people who come into the store are women, they ususally go to the Sportswear (women's clothing) and Junior departments where I normaly am.  but today they put me in Men's, and with a newbie to boot.  I just looked at her and said "I'm just as clueless as you are, right now."  So they moved her over to shoes.

The day went by soooo slowly because hardly any customers came into the department, and the ones that did I couldn't help because I had no clue where anything was.  Boredom makes the clock stand still while time flies when you're having fun.  Interesting how that turns out, no? ;o)

But just when I though I was free and clear from any true responsibility today, this guy walks in looking for an entire outfit for a banquet that will match his shoes.  I felt like an idiot saying "Yeah, you'll just have to look around 'cause I've only been in this department for 2 hours."  So he spent the next hour and a half trying on pants and shirts and belts before he found an outfit that worked for him.  Every 10 minutes, though, he'd come up to the front desk to ask if the outfit looked OK.  I'm sorry, but if a grown man can't look in the mirror and tell for himself whether or not he looks good, he's got some serious clothing issues.

How do you NOT know if a shirt looks good on you??? Sure, he might've wanted an outside opinion, but he seemed to really not know if it look good or not.  So sad.

I can't wait to get another job....
