November 10 AlarmsI pose a question to you: what good is an alarm to you if you have to have somebody else wake you up so you can turn it off?
My biggest pet peeve this semester is my roommate's alarm. She sets it to go off at 4am (that in itself is insane), but she doesn't wake up to it. I, with earplugs firmly in place, am the one to wake up to it (my alarm is set for either 6am or 8am, depending on the day) and tell my "sleeping beauty" roommie in no uncertain terms to shut the damn thing off! It's so superfluously loud, I really don't understand how she can't hear it at all. She only wears an eye mask when she goes to sleep, to keep the light of the lamp out.
At any rate, hearing her name she then wakes up with a start, declares "Oh!" then turns off the most annoying sound you could imagine hearing at 4am and promptly falls asleep, not to wake up again until about 7am. I, on the other hand, am so worked up about having to tell her yet again to wake up to HER alarm, that I cannot get back to sleep. So, I mutter and toss and turn until about 15 minutes before my alarm goes off when I fall asleep in vain.
So, I proposed to the girl the other day that she set her alarm for about 6:30, seeing as how she never gets up until later than that anyway. She simply laughed and said, "But I have to be out of the house by 5am."
"So then why don't you wake up to your alarm? Perhaps an alarm that says your name would be more useful. Find one." She just laughed again. Grrr!
*sigh* I have to find a roommate with a schedule more similar to mine for next semester. I can't handle this anymore. I swear, if I have to tell that girl to wake up to her alarm one more time, I might just do it with a two by four!! Double grrr!!! November 05 Latin DancingHa haa! I went Latin dancing for the first time tonight up on campus, and it was a blast! I must say, I never knew I could dance so good ;o). I guess I'm just good at following the lead lol. Of course, that's provided the person I'm dancing with knows how to lead well....there's nothing worse than a man who doesn't know how to take the lead.
For instance...I have this aquaintance who pretends to dance well. I will take my following pet peaves from his example: Fellas if you're gonna dance with a gal, make sure you stand up straight and put your hand on her back, not her waist. Oh, and make sure you talk to her, too. Nothing is more awkward than looking at the guy to see that he's checking out the girl dancing behind you/next to you/whatever. Guys, look at the girl you're dancing with and TALK!! It's just common courtesy.
Ok, back to Latin dancing! It's really fun, you should try it. Good work out, too ;) Especially if you dance with somebody who knows what they're doing.
K, so it's late and I need to get to bed. I'll be dancing in my dreams tonight! ;o) |
