January 14 ResolutionsAnother year gone, and another year beginning. Already I've broken about 5 of my resolutions for this year. lol Obviously, one of them was to blog a bit more often, but we can already see how that's shaping up, right? Along with blogging, I've made a promise to write in my journal more, but that hasn't happened yet, either. The longer I wait, the harder backtracking will be, so I'd better cowgirl up and just do it. Never procrastinate good things, friends. It doesn't amount to a hill of beans in the long run if you do. So besides not following up on resolutions I never should have made in the first place knowing I would never fulfill them, I have been quite the busy little bee in the past few weeks. Well, a sick little bee, at any rate. I spent the holidays in Virginia with Titi Tita and Tio Serg (aunt and uncle on my mom's side), and I had a very good time. I got to see some of the monuments in Washington, D.C. (they live just outside of the capitol), and I even went to a Civil War battlefield on New Year's day. My other uncle, Tio Ferin (also on mom's side) took me to D.C., and it just happened to rain that day. So we walked around in the cold rain for about an hour because I just HAD to see the Lincoln monument, and we both got soaked. Well, I got soaked. Tio Ferin had on a thicker, more water-proof sweater than me, so he was dryer. And it didn't help with the cold I was developing. The worst day of the cold Tio took me to Great Falls park and had me walk around a bit. I was feeling soooo crappy, but being out in the fresh air helped a lot. Titi Tita was sick, too, unfortunately. And Tio Serg eventually got sick as well. So all 3 of us were down and out with the cold we caught from Jose on Christmas Eve. What a great present, eh? :P Anywho, New Year's was uneventful for the most part. And by uneventful, I mean another year has gone by without a kiss from a special someone :P. But such is life for me, so why should I expect anything different, right? We partied at Titi and Tio's house, and I ended up meeting all of my cousin Sergi's in-laws; something I never thought would ever happen in my life haha. It was fun, though. We got everybody hooked on Rummikub, and dominoes is always a favorite game with the fam. So despite starting the new year with a cold, things are looking up for 2008. New years means new beginnings, and I'm determined to get a fresh start this year. Look out, world! I'm ready and rarin' to go ;o) |
